Fellow for Leadership Summit: The Future of Local News and Public Media

Adam Schweigert is director of new media at Indiana Public Media (WFIU Public Radio and WTIU Public Television), where he directs online strategy, cross-platform content development and community engagement. He is also senior producer and managing editor for several multi-platform productions, including Earth Eats, Kinsey Confidential, Muslim Voices and A Moment of Science. Schweigert has been with WFIU Public Radio since 2003, previously serving as director of multimedia initiatives, classical music director, arts bureau chief and arts reporter/producer. He is a co-founder of pubmedia chat, a weekly twitter chat for public media professionals. Schweigert was invited to speak on a panel about multi-platform content at the 2009 Public Radio Program Directors Conference and has served on the NPR Digital Advisory and Working Group and the PRX Public Radio Player Advisory Board. He holds degrees in music composition and oboe performance from Ohio State University and has pursued graduate study in music composition, electronic music and nonprofit management at Indiana University.
