imageKathy Y. Times is an Emmy award-winning investigative reporter and president of the National Association of Black Journalists. She started her career as a newspaper reporter in Tampa. She made the switch to television and has worked in her hometown of Miami as well as in Birmingham, Mobile, Kansas City, Washington, D.C., and Gainesville, Fla.

Her niche for uncovering government blunders and system failures helped her win two Emmys, an Edward R. Murrow Award and other honors. She has covered national news for MSNBC, interviewed the country's most powerful leaders, and covered stories that have landed her in handcuffs and in the cockpit of the Air Force Thunderbirds.

Times obtained her undergraduate degrees in journalism and computer information systems from Florida A&M University and received her master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
