Barb Dybwad has an extensive background in technology and journalism, laying the foundation for her role as director of programming and content at Tecca. As the go-to person for all things tech and gadgets, she is responsible for leading the editorial team to produce and program content for the consumer electronics web site. Dybwad has been living and breathing the digital media world for the past decade, sporting a patchwork career path in the areas of web development, professional blogging and journalism. She maintains a high profile in online journalism and is a regular speaker at industry events focused on topics in the fields of social media, technology, gaming and virtual worlds. Prior to Tecca, she worked as the senior tech editor at Mashable, senior editor at Engadget, director of production at Crowd Fusion, producer of the Joystiq network, founder of WoW Insider, Massively and Big Download, and editor-in-chief of the Social Software Weblog. Her work has appeared in Forbes, CNN, ABC News, USA Today, and Yahoo News among others. Though she has chosen to pursue a career in technology, Dybwad received her college degree in biochemistry from Smith College.
