Julia Scott is chief blogger and CEO of the personal finance web site BargainBabe.com. She spent three years as a reporter and blogger for the Los Angeles Daily News, where she created one of the Daily News' most popular blogs, The Bargain Hunter, which gained a ten-year syndication contract from Universal Press Syndicate. Scott received a full scholarship to attend a week-long blogging seminar at the Poynter Institute. Previously, Scott reported for the Star-Ledger in Newark and Kenilworth, N.J., the Jersey Journal in Jersey City, N.J., and the Newark Metro. Scott taught an introduction to music course at Rutgers University while earning a master's degree in jazz history and research. She wrote a thesis on Jazz at Lincoln Center, which she later presented at the Institute of Jazz Studies. Scott holds a bachelor's degree from Barnard College in New York.
